DANGER UP AHEAD

DID YOU KNOW…There is another back door move to disarm law abiding American citizens through your children and a treaty with the UN?

http://www.parentalrights.org/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC=%7B96190840-EC3B-4A5E-80EE-9719625B62A5%7D

FACT: America is only one of two nations that have not signed this treaty, but the pressure is on.
FACT: Under international law, the treaty overrides the Constitution of the United States.
FACT: If ratified the UNCRC could end homeschooling forever in the US.
FACT: The state will have the right to “watch” all families.

Imagine an Air Force mom, serving her country on a month-long deployment, who learns that her daughter has been secretly removed by local authorities, claiming the child has been “abandoned.” Children begin mandatory sex-education at the age of four, regardless of their family’s opinions, beliefs, or convictions, and parents are imprisoned if their children fail to receive any of their mandatory vaccinations. Parents live in a state of constant supervision and suspicion.

Imagine if your national government had the audacity to appoint a “guardian” to monitor your child from birth, charged with the legal responsibility to evaluate your decisions as a parent and armed with the legal authority to “intervene, prevent or rectify” any violations of your child’s rights. Public and private schools alike are policed by the national government, and classes begin with singing about the principles of peace, tolerance, and the United Nations. Your child’s confidential medical records, stored in a nation-wide electronic register from birth until age twenty, can be accessed at any time, without your knowledge, by any physician, teacher, or government social worker in the nation.

Now stop imagining, because for parents in the 193 countries that have ratified the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child, each of these scenarios is true.

TEN THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SUBSTANCE OF THE CRC "CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD":

Children would have the ability to choose their own religion while parents would only have the authority to give their children advice about religion.

The best interest of the child principle would give the government the ability to override every decision made by every parent if a government worker disagreed with the parent’s decision.

A child’s “right to be heard” would allow him (or her) to seek governmental review of every parental decision with which the child disagreed.

According to existing interpretation, it would be illegal for a nation to spend more on national defense than it does on children’s welfare.

Children would acquire a legally enforceable right to leisure.

Christian schools that refuse to teach "alternative worldviews" and teach that Christianity is the only true religion "fly in the face of article 29" of the treaty.

Allowing parents to opt their children out of sex education has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.

Children would have the right to reproductive health information and services, including abortions, without parental knowledge or consent.

Parents would no longer be able to administer reasonable spankings to their children.
A murderer aged 17 years and 11 months and 29 days at the time of his crime could no longer be sentenced to life in prison.

WASTED BREATH

As we watch a group of brave men take a stand upon the Senate floor for hours that seem to have no end, it calls into question as to whether these gentlemen are essentially "wasting their breath?” Most certainly there are Americans on both sides of the fence that would agree to that being the case.

However, Jesus tells a parable that is rather fitting for the situation we saw displayed.

Luke 18:1-5 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, saying, "In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. "There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.' "For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.'"

This parable displays one of the greatest acts of a "peaceful war." Through her persistence, the widow gave the judge no peace until she received what she knew she needed, and what she knew was just. Through the display in the senate, we saw persistence for what is right and just.

It is interesting that Jesus pointed out more than once that the judge was not a man that feared God, yet he surrendered due to the fact that he was the weaker in the battle by his own acknowledgement.

Luke 18:6-8 And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge said; now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"

In this passage, the unrighteous judge recognizes God, and that He is just. The judge is also well aware that the elect cry out to the Lord day and night. For Him to know this, the elect had to have made it clear to all, who they were, and to whom they belonged. This judge knew that through their PUBLIC prayers, God would act swiftly on their behalf. These believers did not fear praying out in the open and making their request known to God for all eyes to see.

As we watch the courage displayed on Capitol Hill, perhaps we Christians need to consider carefully just what it is going to take to see victory. We applaud the men who have stood for us so long, but is more required for GOD to turn His face back to us and bring about His justice quickly?

Friends, we used to be known as a Christian nation. We used to pray in the public square, sending forth the message who we were, and to whom we belonged. While it is important for us to pray privately, it is now my firm belief that God is waiting on us to once again meet Him in the public square and show the unrighteous who our God really is. Like our good senators, let not our words be a mere wasting of breath.

When the Son of Man comes, will He find that kind of faith on the earth?

Marching Orders

When we look upon the world around us, it seems hard to imagine that we will ever see our country return to what it once was. Christians instinctively, and through signs mapped out in the Bible, know that the time of the Great Tribulation is fast approaching. Recently someone asked me, "If we know that the tribulation is coming, then why try to fight it, or stop it, if it is destined to happen anyway?"

The truth is, God did not set dates as to when the "end" is going to come, and He never gave us a time limit on protecting our families, standing firm against evil, and seeking justice. No where in the Bible does God ever tell us to "give up."

For those of us who have "eyes to see, and ears to hear," we must remain alert at all times until His coming.

1Thessalonians 5:4-6 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.

While it is true that we humans cannot win the spiritual war that rages upon the earth, nonetheless we are not called away from the battle field until the Lord returns for us.

Psalm 94:6 & 16
"They slay the widow and the stranger
And murder the orphans.
Who will stand up for me against evildoers?
Who will take his stand for me against those who do wickedness?"

All of us have a duty to stand strong, defend the innocent, and protect the gifts that God has given us, which are family, home, and country.

Pro 28:5 Evil men do not understand justice,
But those who seek the LORD understand all things.

For those who "love God and are called according to His purpose" let us continually bear in mind that God is with us through the battle, and that no matter what the outcome here on earth, God Himself will be victorious and we will share in the celebration for eternity.

Pro 21:31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle,
But victory belongs to the LORD.

BEATEN INTO THE SIN OF TOLERANCE

Matthew 7:2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

This scripture is one that is taken out of context more frequently today than any other in the Bible. When a Christian opens his mouth to speak out against someone's sins, this scripture is the one that is most often thrown back in his face. The sinner tries his best to silence the Christian by pointing the finger back at him. Unfortunately, this tactic works all too often because the Christian, knowing full well that he falls quite short of the glory of God, is often shamed into silence. If the sinner is even a little more knowledgeable concerning the Bible, he may send the final death blow with,

Mat 7:3-5 "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
"Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye?
"You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye."

The well meaning Christian, believing he was doing the sinner a favor at first, has now been beaten down into a quivering mass of guilt and confusion. This my friends is a tactic of the enemy to cause Christians everywhere to TOLERATE sin.

It is true that these scriptures are about hypocrisy. If the Christian is PRACTICING (willfully committing sin), then he has no grounds to point it out in another. If the Christian has been cleansed from his sins, though he be not perfect, but is PRACTICING his walk in righteousness, it is his duty to call attention to sin when he sees it. Not saying that he is to look for it under every rock, but it is the Christian duty to call others to righteousness, saved or unsaved.

Consider this:

Ezek 33:8-9 "When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require from your hand.
"But if you on your part warn a wicked man to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your life.

In Galatians chapter 2, Paul confronts Peter (Cephas) publicly about a sin he was committing.

1Cor 5:11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one.

How far we have strayed from our Bibles as Christians when the sinner who uses scripture to beat us over our heads gets the upper hand.

It is obvious that Satan himself knows scripture quite well when he used it to tempt Jesus in the wilderness. However, Jesus knew it better, and he tuned it right back around on him.

2 Cor. 11:3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

Stand firm against Satan's tricks. Prayerfully read your Bible to learn how to refute twisted scriptures. Let us not bear the guilt of TOLERATING.

Rejected Truth

Dear Huldah:

I find that the thing that bugs me the most is people who call themselves "Christians" who think the LORD and truth are 2 separate and unrelated things.

I've come to believe in my 30 years of believing that all truth is God's truth.

Is there any truth so small that we can ignore it? Lie about it?

I can't see how that could be the case, but I'm having a hard time getting through on this point.

It's not even that I insist on my own truth. My argument is that we have a duty to do all within our power to determine what the truth is and then honor it.

We must not make lies, and if we found we made a lie we must not love it.

Or maybe I'm wrong?

The best example of this argument in real life is my disagreement with my late stepbrother who believed in minimum wage laws to help poor people.

I told him the question must be whether the policy actually works to do the job he intended of helping the poor. Not whether he thought is was more fair or less fair. I told him that if he did not care about economic reality he was insane and dangerous and evil no matter how much he imagined he was driven by a loving desire to help. Just as insane and dangerous as if he proposed to help the poor in ways that defied the laws of physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, chemistry, etc.

The sense I got from his gibberish was it did not seem to matter what the truth was, all that mattered was fairness in theory. He just couldn't grasp the idea of economics beyond his sentimental notions.

I tried to explain to him that proposing to help the poor with a stupid destructive policy was exactly like helping the poor by building them an airplane to fly around in built out of rice paper and bubble gum. Everyone's excited about flying until the thing falls out of the sky, if it even makes it into the sky.

So anyway, I see a very unrealistic way of thinking going on with people that really scares me. No way can a productive society survive when people are this stupid. They have the stupidity and the political power to enforce that stupidity to the point that it will kill us all unless God cuts the days short.

Er, well, maybe that's my answer. Thanks.

Maybe some of the people I cc'd on this will be willing to contact you themselves. I'm certain they are all pretty sick of me and my insistence on actual truth and the rejection of fantasies.

Very truly yours,

James Edward Solbakken

**********

My dear Brother James,

I had to smile upon reading your letter, because I do very much understand your passion and your frustration. There is nothing more disheartening to a Truth lover than to have it staring us all in the faces, yet even the Christians around us don’t appear to be getting it, sometimes willfully.

With proper leading, there are some who will see Truth now. Others will not, until life has dealt some pretty hard blows. Still others will never see it. All of which are completely out of our control. So where does that leave you and me with so much Truth to share, and so few listeners?

What I have learned is this:

We should be ready to share Truth at every opportunity.
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
Notice the text says “preach the word.” Meaning, we are to be schooled in the scriptures enough to use them to argue our cases.

Why the scriptures?

1) It makes us sound more credible, and not like we are making arguments up in our own minds.

2) It forces people to have to face God and argue with Him, not with you.

3) It builds our own confidence when we know that we are dead on in using God’s Word accurately and effectively.

Couple the scriptures with some knowledgeable lessons from history, and you stand an excellent chance of getting the upper hand in a disagreement.

Again however, we aren’t going to convince everyone. Concerning your stepbrother, remember the words of Jesus, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household." Matthew 13:57

Family is often the hardest to convince.

The scriptures tell us that we are to show some the Truth by example:
In all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us. 2Timothy 2:7-8
When we are rejected :
"Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet. Matthew 10:14
When it is not worth opening our mouths to argue:
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." Matthew 7:6
Even though the Bible doesn’t seem to specifically talk about minimum wage laws, the Parable of the Workers Paid Equally in Matthew 20:1-16 gives insight on the freedoms the employer has to pay what he and his workers have agreed upon. Even the Roman government allowed landowners that much freedom.

As 1 Timothy 4:2 above states, I would pray for patience with those around you and that you may deliver God’s Word clearly. People tend to respect and listen to us more when we are ready, armed, and calm.

God bless James, and know that you are not alone.
